What A Session At Fitspire Actually Looks Like:

You Arrive

You walk in and the first thing you notice is the music — Tom Petty, not techno. Natural light pours through the glass doors. No mirrors everywhere. No one staring at themselves.

Your workout partners are already warming up. There's a retired accountant, a marketing director, a nurse practitioner. Ages range from early 40s to late 60s. Nobody looks like a fitness model. Everybody says hi.

You Train

Corey walks you through the warmup — about 12 minutes of stretching, activation work, and practicing today's movements with just your bodyweight. No rushing. By the time you pick up a weight, your body is ready for it.

The training itself is slower than you'd expect. Controlled. Corey's watching your form, cueing adjustments, making sure you're moving correctly under tension. You're not racing a clock or competing with anyone. You're building strength the way your body was designed to.

Somewhere in the session, you hit a new personal best. Maybe it's 5 more pounds on your goblet squat. Maybe it's a split squat that finally feels right. Corey notices. Your workout partners notice. It's a small win — but it's yours.

You Leave

You finish feeling energized, not destroyed. A little sweat, maybe some mild soreness tomorrow — but nothing that wrecks the rest of your day. You high-five the group, grab your water bottle, and head out knowing you'll be back in a few days.

How Our Training Works

The Warmup (12 Minutes)

Every session starts the same way — preparing your body to move correctly, not just "getting loose."

Step 1: Stretching to improve mobility and range of motion (hips, legs, thoracic spine, shoulders).

Step 2: Activation using bodyweight and bands to wake up dormant muscles (hips, legs, shoulders, core).

Step 3: Movement Practice We walk you through the day's main exercise with just your bodyweight first—no weights yet. This ensures you've got the movement down correctly and prepares your muscles and joints to handle load safely. You're not just warming up—you're preparing your body to move correctly and building habits that keep you limber long-term.

By the time you touch a dumbbell, your joints are ready and your muscles know what to do. This is why our clients stay injury-free.

Slow, Controlled Strength Training

This isn't about pushing to failure. It's about building strength that actually lasts.

Every rep is therapeutic, not destructive. Controlled movements that teach your body to move correctly under tension and load.

Full-body sessions build structural balance and real-world strength while keeping you functional between workouts. No hobbling around for three days after training.

Meet Your Coach: Corey Nielsen

I'm a NASM certified personal trainer, Pain Free Performance Specialist (PPSC), and Barbell Rehab certified. But the certifications matter less than the 12+ years I've spent helping busy professionals, parents, and pre-retirees build strength, confidence, and habits that actually stick.

I built Fitspire around small group training because every other option had a fatal flaw. One-on-one training works but costs too much to sustain. Big box gyms are affordable but offer zero coaching. Group fitness classes are fun but ignore individual limitations and push everyone the same way.
